Love Poetry Through The Ages Revision

Love Poetry Through The Ages Revision is a necessary task for students studying the English Literature A Level or AS Level provided by AQA; poems from both the Post-1900 and Pre-1900 anthologies will be selected for examination.

In the AS qualification you will answer one poetry question about one poem, selecting either Post-1900 or Pre-1900 based on what you have been studying in class. For the A Level exam, you may be studying one or both of these anthologies for Part C of Paper 1. You will also need to ensure your overall skills in poetry are strong because of the unseen poetry components in the exam. There are a whole range of options in the A Level exam so it is important that you speak to your teacher in order to ensure you are studying and revising the right texts.

Love Poetry Through The Ages Revision

As with all English Literature A Level courses, it is a relatively new specification, with the first A Level assessment having taken place in June 2017 and AS Level in June 2016. Unfortunately this means that there are limited sample papers and past papers to use as exam preparation. There are a total of 15 poems in the Post-1900 collection and 14 poems in the Pre-1900 collection. For students studying the AS Level course, you will only study one collection, however if you are completing the A Level course then you could be studying both; make sure you check with your teacher if you are unsure.
